We will be piloting a ‘Lunch Club’ starting after the Easter holiday on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11.30 to 12.30 at an extra cost of £3.50 and children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink in a lunch box with a re-useable ice pack to keep it fresh. We promote healthy eating in the setting in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and school so we ask that no sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks are included in the packed lunch. If the ‘Lunch Club’ is popular and works well we will continue it in the autumn term extending it to all the week days.
The ‘Lunch Club’ can be added on to the morning session so your child could stay from 8.30 to 12.30, or added onto the afternoon session so they would arrive at 11.30 and stay until 3.30 or it can be used for your child to stay all day if you wish. For children eligible for the 15 hours funding the ‘Lunch Club’ can be included in the 15 hours free entitlement, for example, if your child does 4 sessions (12 hours free entitlement) they could then make up the 3 extra hours with the ‘Lunch Club’, however, if they already do 5 sessions the ‘Lunch Club’ would have to be paid in addition.
The format for this extra hour will include a short play outside (covered area for wet weather) while the changeover occurs, wash hands, lunch, quiet play to allow all the children to finish and then a short play outside if the weather is suitable. Please complete the form below if you would like your child to stay for the lunch club marking clearly the days they would like to stay. Many thanks.
